In Myrtle Point anyone in need knows to call on a Lion.
The Lions provide eyeglasses. The Lions provide hearing support. The Lions provide cataract surgery. The Lions provide vision and health screening. The Lions put on Bingo Tuesday nights and the proceeds go to support Lions projects.
Every penny the Lions raise goes back into the community. See our History Page.

The Myrtle Point Lions Club Community Building Committee actively seeks to improve the quality and enjoyment of life here in The Land of the Oregon Myrtle. When the Maple School was put up for sale, the Lions went to the district with citizen concerns and began a campaign to keep the school for public uses. That happened. When the Logging Museum needed a second space for its Gardiner Mill Model, the Lions stepped up to sponsor the operation of the Fairgrounds Museum. That happens still.
When Christmas Lights The Night faced cancellation in 2005 due to overwhelming insurance costs, the Lions stepped in to sponsor, covering it with the Lions umbrella policy.
The Myrtle Point Lions Club celebrates and supports all members of the community who serve us. In recognition of such service we select a Volunteer of the Year. For 2007 it was a couple: Gary & Georgia Dickenson, who helped build the Fairgrounds Museum to be what it is, and who serve on the boards of the Logging Museum and Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce.
Since 1928, Myrtle Point Lions have worked projects from improving the road to Sitkum to sponsoring a Tuberculin Clinic.
If you see a community need, contact a Lion, OR better still, join us, and become a Lion.
